Carrie, Mike Flanagan's new series adaptation of Stephen King's novel, is announced for Prime Video on October 7, 2026. Amazon says all eight episodes will arrive together. This is the Summer H. Howell-led series, not the 1976 or 2013 film. The guide was checked October 6; it is an upcoming-release guide, not a watched review.
Carrie release date and all-eight-episode launch
Amazon's official series announcement gives October 7 for the complete eight-episode season and says it will launch in more than 240 countries and territories. That is an announced release, not a successful Indian-account playback test. The public Prime Video page shows a coming-soon time that can vary with locale; we are not converting it into an India launch hour without a confirmed timezone.
What is the new Carrie about?
Carrie White has grown up isolated with her protective mother, Margaret. After her father's death, she enters public high school and faces bullying, social-media pressure and the awakening of telekinetic powers. The series expands the novel's coming-of-age story over eight episodes. This summary follows Amazon's announcement and avoids revealing an ending or claiming how the adaptation handles its final scenes.
Cast and characters
Summer H. Howell plays Carrie White, with Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White. Amazon names Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Josie Totah as Tina, Arthur Conti as Billy and Thalia Dudek as Emaline. Amber Midthunder plays Miss Desjardin and Matthew Lillard plays Principal Grayle. These are the officially announced series roles, not the cast of an older film version.
Mike Flanagan's role and Stephen King's credit
Flanagan is showrunner, writer and executive producer, and Amazon says he directs four episodes. Stephen King is also an executive producer. The series is an Amazon MGM Studios production. Four directed episodes does not mean Flanagan directs every episode; no unverified episode-by-episode credits are added here.
Official trailer, not a fan edit
Watch Carrie - Official Trailer on Prime Video's YouTube channel. Amazon's announcement embeds this same trailer. It introduces the new cast and school setting; it is not evidence of already-available full episodes.
Where to check in India, Hindi audio and access
Use the official Prime Video Carrie Season 1 title page and match the 2026 series. On release, check the local page and Audio and Subtitles menu for your account. Indian playback, Hindi dubbing, subtitle options, episode runtimes and local maturity certification have not been verified. No US subscription price is presented as an Indian price.
For another upcoming horror series, read the Below six-episode release guide. The Haunted Hotel Season 2 guide separately explains why an existing season's language menu does not prove the next season's options. For a film arriving later in the week, see Animals on Netflix.
